The IETF released a formal Internet-Draft on MCP security considerations, co-authored by protocol contributors and submitted for standardization review. The draft addresses authentication models, tool invocation boundaries, and prompt injection mitigations — the three attack surfaces most commonly exploited in deployed MCP environments.
